The Tax-Free Essentials Act would eliminate the sales tax on diapers, wipes, and period products-basic supplies North Carolina families need that should never have been taxed. With 1 in 2 U.S. families not having enough diapers for their children, we know many North Carolina families are struggling every month to afford these essentials.

This legislation is an opportunity for North Carolina to join 22 states and Washington, D.C., which have already passed legislation to exempt diapers from sales tax and invest in our families.

Ask your Senator to encourage the Committee on Rules and Operations of the Senate to vote HB 1200 favorably out of committee, and support the Tax-Free Essentials Act when it comes to the Senate for a vote.

Thank you for reaching out to your senator to help repeal the tax on diapers! Your voice makes a real difference for families across North Carolina.
