Babies Need Bottoms diaper bank is asking the community for support to Wipe Out Diaper Need during National Diaper Need Awareness Week.  Community members are invited to drop off donations of baby wipes and diapers at collection sites throughout Asheville, or make a financial donation at www.babiesneedbottoms.com/donate.

 

Supporters can bring donations to The Mule (131 Sweeten Creek Rd) all week long, or join Diaper Bank Leadership on Wednesday, September 25 from 6-8pm to celebrate and learn more about getting involved.

 

Since 2017, Babies Need Bottoms has distributed over 1.75 million diapers throughout Western North Carolina. There are no other diaper banks serving this region, and no public assistance programs provide this basic hygiene essential.

 

Nearly 1 in 2 families experience diaper need. “Many people are shocked to learn public assistance programs like SNAP (food stamps) and WIC cannot be used to purchase diapers” said Alicia Heacock, Co-Executive Director for Babies Need Bottoms.

 

“Babies need diapers to be clean, dry and healthy. And parents need diapers so they can send their children to childcare and work. Diapers are a necessity for families. Donating diapers is a powerful way to show up for our neighbors and community. ” shared Meagan Lyon Leimena, Co-Executive Director for Babies Need Bottoms.
